Remote Patient Monitoring FAQs

What is Remote Patient Monitoring, and how does this program benefit me?

Remote Patient Monitoring, or RPM for short, uses digital technology to record and transmit your health data to your healthcare provider.

By enrolling in this program, your health is actively monitored, and reports are delivered to your physician if your readings are out of your normal range. When you transmit your readings, the data is sent to us automatically -- you don't have to write them down to give to your doctor.

How many times should I measure my readings in a day?

You should take your measurements at least once a day. Try to take the measurement around the same time every day. If you would like, you can take a measurement more than once a day.

Should I take my measurements before or after I take medication?

If you take a daily medication, you should take a measurement after you take your medication. Consult with your doctor for more specific advice.

What if I forget to take my measurements?

Don't worry! If you ever forget to take a measurement, a member of the RhythmScience team will reach out and help remind you.

How long is this program?

By enrolling in the program, you agree to participate in the program for at least 90 days. After 90 days, you can continue the program for as long as you wish, or you can speak to your doctor and opt-out of the program.

Does my insurance cover this program?

Yes, your insurance will cover the program. Contact your clinician's billing department if you are unsure about copay.

What if I want to opt-out of the program?

Please give us a call if you would like to opt-out of the program. You may opt-out at any time. If you choose to opt-out before the 90 day program ends, you must return your blood pressure device back to your clinician. If you opt-out after the 90 day program, you are free to keep your blood pressure device.

Device FAQs

I'm having an issue with my device, what can I do?

Contact us as soon as possible. A member of the RhythmScience team can help you troubleshoot your device, or send you a replacement.

Does it matter what cellular provider I use?

No, the devices operate independently from your personal cellular devices. They will not cause any conflict with your personal devices, or vice versa.

I’ve been taking measurements, but my clinician let me know that my results have not been transmitted. What should I do?

Your device is likely being interrupted during transmission. Be sure to leave the monitor ON after taking a measurement. Once the device has finished transmitting, it will automatically turn off after two minutes. In the meantime, you can leave the device running while you go about your day.

The accessory that came with the device doesn’t fit me. What should I do?

Contact the RhythmScience team, and we can send you a better fitting accessory.

I'm using a device that has no internal memory storage. Is there some way to see my previous measurements?

Yes! Contact the RhythmScience team, and we can send you a report of your blood pressure measurements.
